Have you ever thought how about how fantastic it would be to be lying on the beach, margarita in one hand, your favourite novel in the other and while you're doing on that, your still making money? Well with Fulfilled By Amazon, you can!

What is FBA?

Fulfilled By Amazon (or FBA for short) is a service by Amazon where you can ship your products to one of their fulfilment centres for them to dispatch and manage. You can send just about every product imaginable to FBA to sell, be it a pencil or a washing machine.

What are the fees like?

The FBA fees are very competitive and compared to selling your items as a merchant, it may be more lucrative as a seller to sell your items through FBA. The exact fees vary from product to product and also from seller to seller.

What promotions are on offer?

There are various different schemes that Amazon offer as part of their FBA service. One of these promotions is Small and Light. This scheme allows seller who sells small items under a certain size to sell their items for a reduced fee.

What do I have to do with my items?

You have two options when it comes to preparing your items for FBA. Option one is to prepare the items yourself, which means you have to sticker every sellable item up and also make sure that they have sufficient packaging material depending on the item. All this would have to be done before sending it to Amazon. Option two is to send the items directly to Amazon in order for them to prep them. The only disadvantage with this is that you will be charged for the items to be prepped which may incur additional costs compared to prepping yourself. On the other hand, you are able to send your items directly from your suppliers meaning that you would be able to house a virtual business as all of your stock would be held at Amazon.

How do I get started with FBA?

All you need to do is to log in to your seller central account. If you haven’t got a seller central account, you will need to set this up prior. You will then need to go to the FBA section on your account and then “Get started”. The seller support team are always on hand if you do have any queries regarding getting started and maximising your profits from FBA.
